Julliette’s Place

Dedicated to providing a safe refuge and comprehensive range of services to abused women and their children and single abused women. Through services and on-going education, they are committed to the eradication of all forms of violence against women and their children.

Nellie’s Shelter

Provides emergency shelter and protection for all women and children. The ultimate goal is to secure long-term, independent and affordable housing. Nellie’s programs and services are for women and children who have and are experiencing oppressions such as violence, poverty and homelessness. They are committed to social change through education and advocacy, to achieve social justice for all women and children.

Rosalie Hall

Provides a comprehensive range of early intervention, prevention and treatment services meeting the needs of young families from Scarborough and across the Toronto Region. Rosalie Hall, with compassion and respect, assists young parents in need and their children to realize their potential through the provision of a wide range of community, residential, educational and child development services.

Yorktown Family Services

Provides a safe and secure haven for women and their children fleeing an abusive relationship. Staffed 24 hours a day by a multilingual and multicultural team, the shelter is committed to the well-being and empowerment of women who have been abused and to the healthy development of their children.

Birkdale Residence

An emergency shelter for women and children and refuge families providing a safe and supportive environment. Programs and services provided at Birkdale promote resiliency while encouraging the development of safe relationships and self-help skills. Our goal is to provide a sense of stability while residing in the shelter to make easier the process of finding and sustaining long-term housing, and life in their new communities.

St. Clare’s Residence

A transitional crisis care facility for women, aged 25 years or older, who have experienced difficulty maintaining permanent housing. Our goal is to assist our residents to live independently in the community by providing long-term, self-directed services in a supportive, home-like atmosphere, governed by safety, respect and dignity.

Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter

An organization run by women, provides support and shelter for women and children escaping violence. Ernestine’s assists women and children in rebuilding their lives by providing crisis intervention and a range of holistic support services, while acknowledging the multitude of issues facing survivors of abuse.

Amelie House

Provides long-term, transitional housing for up to two years for women who have experienced difficulty in maintaining adequate permanent housing. Many residents are survivors of domestic violence, abuse, poverty, addiction or mental illness and refugee claimants. Amelie House works to provide safe accommodation, nutritious meals, informal counseling, crisis intervention, referrals, advocacy and basic necessities to the women in our care.

Mary’s Shelter

Opened in December 1996, originally combining long-term housing, a 12 bed emergency dorm and an Out of the Cold program. The program changed to an emergency shelter as the need became increasingly urgent. Mary’s Home can accommodate 38 women, aged 16 years or older, and we welcome women of different ages, cultures, religions. Women come to Mary’s Home from a variety of situations including leaving abusive relationships, newcomers to Canada, family breakdown, eviction, job loss, addictions and/or mental health issues and poverty.

Interval House

One of the first centers for abused women and children in Canada. Interval House campaigns for women’s empowerment, providing innovative, specialized services that help abused women and their children transform their lives and break the cycle of violence. Interval House provides a continuum of services and a holistic approach to help women and children escape violence and rebuild their lives. They nurture families from crisis intervention to re-integration into the workforce and the community with programs providing emotional support, practical help and life skills.

Homes First

Homes First has been providing supportive housing and shelter for over 35 years to all populations, with a focus on the chronically homeless, people with complex mental health and addictions issues, and seniors. Homes First currently operates 10 emergency shelters and 14 housing sites, providing a home and support to more than 1,400 seniors, families, and single adults.

We are proud to work with these shelters and support their mission of providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children in need.

Massey Center

A client-centered infant and early childhood mental health organization. They serve two main community-based groups of clients: vulnerable pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children, and families and caregivers from the local community. Their goal is to improve their lives through integrated evidence-informed practice, education and transitional supports.

Elisa House

Opened in December 2001 as a combination transitional housing program and emergency shelter for women. Elisa House provides services to women who have experienced, or are dealing with, addiction issues and/or mental health issues, immigration issues, abuse or poverty.

Fred Victor

A social service charitable organization that fosters long-lasting and positive change in the lives of homeless and low-income people living across Toronto. Our many programs and services, located at 20+ different sites across Toronto, help people rebuild their lives by offering: affordable housing, transitional housing, shelters and emergency respite site, food access services, job training and counselling, health information and community services, community mental health outreach, and specialized support programs.
